The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR Database (

The Library of Congress offers the THOMAS Database

http://thomas.loc.gov/) - For all types of legislative information, including bill summary, status and text, committee information and reports

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (
http://www.uspto.gov/) - Database to search patent and trademark filings

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics

http://www.bls.gov/) - Offers a wealth of economic- and employment-related data

The U.S. Department of State (
http://www.state.gov/) - Has numerous resources related to traveling and doing business with other countries. Especially helpful are the Background Notes they keep on foreign countries.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s American FactFinder

http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/BasicFactsServlet) - Offers access to some of the Bureau’s largest data sets. Users can create a variety of tables, reports, or maps with information on their community, the economy, or American society.
